Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI®)
The Intercultural Development Inventory® (IDI®) is an assessment tool that helps companies develop their intercultural competency. The application of the (IDI®) facilitates personal growth, insight and collective change in ways that improve individual and collective intercultural competence and outcomes in businesses and organizations. We work with you using IDI as a tool to develop your company's intercultural competency. IDI is a “premier cross-cultural assessment of intercultural competence that is used by organizations to build intercultural competence to achieve international and domestic diversity and inclusion goals and outcomes”. Intercultural competence has been identified as a critical capability in several studies.
This methodology is a tool to work on the staff inclusion goals by looking at OUS processes, tools and systems to understand what happens day-to-day to enable the organization’s commitment to being anti-racist and developing anti-racist and intersectional campaigns.
The Intercultural Development Inventory is a 50-item questionnaire. The Intercultural Development Inventory® (IDI®) assesses intercultural competence—the capability to shift cultural perspective and appropriately adapt behavior to cultural differences and commonalities.
A wide range of organizations and educational institutions have used the IDI, and thousands of Qualified Administrators in more than 30 countries have extensively applied the IDI in corporate, non-profit, government, faith-based, and educational contexts. In addition, more than 60 published articles, book chapters, and over 66 Ph.D. dissertations have been completed using the IDI.
